Aaiman Aamir (she/her) is a seasoned public speaker and workshop facilitator, and the co-founder of Sukoon Space. Sukoon Space is a community arts initiative that aims to provide third spaces for culturally-driven, creative workshops and social events for members of the diaspora and beyond. Her background in technology empowers her to digitize and revitalize traditional forms of art to modernize them for a new-age audience. Sukoon is an Urdu word that means ‘tranquillity’, which is what she aims to bring to Toronto through a connection to cultural creativity.

Sidra Kahloan (she/her) is a Pakistani-Canadian with a passion for creative spaces and curiosity for discovering her culture through creative means. Sidra is a co-founder of Sukoon Space - a community that her and Aaiman have built together to introduce an accessible space to discover, create, and build connections amongst the South Asian diaspora in the GTA. She has a background in visual arts, content creation, and key community connections that expand the reach of Sukoon Space. A registered nurse by profession, Sukoon Space brings her the fulfillment of having a reliable third space that brings her peace, as the name conveys, which is a core value of Sukoon Space.

Block printing is a 4000+ year old art form that has been a cornerstone of South Asian fabrics, patterns, and prints. Sukoon space is a community events group that organizes block printing workshops to make this artform accessible to Canadians. Enjoy this workshop and learn about the artform and create your own prints.
