Placemakers Circle

We kick off the summer with a big, inclusive festival in Toronto, bringing the region to life with new ideas, free events, genre-crossing artworks, and inspiring experiences.  It is thanks to the unstinting generosity and leadership of our supporters that make it all possible.

Our vision, as we exit the worst pandemic our generation has known, is to look strictly forward. Luminato is different from its cultural peers because we are uniquely positioned to re-ignite the city. We can do this, not by enticing people exclusively into our concert halls, our theatres, our galleries, but by breaking out of the downtown core and building a regional approach to programming and audience development that engages with communities and neighbourhoods across the broader Toronto region.  We are bringing art, culture, VIBRANCY to the very doorsteps of our communities.  And we are honoured to have some of our local and national top philanthropists with us along the way.

A donation of $10,000 or more provides that leadership support that allows us to continue to offer predominantly free programming, outdoors, in locations that celebrate and honour Toronto’s history and its diverse peoples. Luminato was founded 15 years ago to take Toronto out of the ashes of the SARS pandemic and help rebuild our city. For many years to come, Luminato’s work will have ripple effects throughout our region, allowing it to grow and flourish.

Immersive Circle

Luminato has designed a new philanthropy circle – one that will collectively support contemporary works within the Luminato Festival program and engage a new generation of supporters.

The Immersive Circle brings together a group of individuals who want to make an impact on Toronto’s arts and culture scene, get behind-the-scenes access to the creative process, and meet new friends at curated special events.

Each year, the Immersive Circle will collectively support a contemporary project in the annual Festival Program, one that uplifts an emerging artist or brings an important international work to Canadian audiences.

With memberships ranging from $1250-$9999, the Luminato Team will keep you engaged throughout the year and during the Festival in the following ways:

  • An exclusive mini-preview event where, as a collective group, you can connect directly with artist(s) you are supporting
  • Two complimentary tickets to attend a 2023 Luminato performance of your choice
  • Early access to tickets and a ticket concierge service
  • Invites to Luminato’s opening night party and other VIP events during the festival and year-round
  • Recognition in select festival print materials and on the website

Flexible donation arrangements are available – please connect with us about making monthly or quarterly contributions.
