Two days prior to the Luminato Festival’s star-studded salute to hisseismic career, singer, songwriter and producer extraordinaire Daniel Lanois is joined by producer Hal Willner and others participating in the June 10 celebration for a lively, roundtable confab with New York Times. The conversation will focus on Lanois’ tremendous impact on contemporary music both within Canada and internationally, including his work with U2, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, the power and poetry of his compositions and the evolving role of the producer within the rapidly changing music industry.
Bruce Headlam became managing editor of video for The New York Times in November, 2013. Previously, Headlam was Media editor since the fall of 2008. He served as the Monday Business editor from 2005 and the Weekend Business editor from 2002. Mr. Headlam joined The Times in 1998 as an editor first on Circuits, then on the Escapes section. Before joining The Times, Mr. Headlam worked for Canadian Business magazine where he served as associate editor from 1995 to 1998. He previously worked as the associate editor at Saturday Night magazine from 1991 to 1994. Under Mr. Headlam, the New York Times Monday Business section won the 2008 Newhouse School Award for Overall Excellence and his writers have won various awards under his editorial leadership. Born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Headlam received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Toronto.
