When the light is just right- you look at things differently. All the blemishes are washed in gold, and nothing is tired, nothing is worn. Everything is full of character, story and life – this is Golden Hour.
Golden Hour is an artist-curated program hosted in Toronto and fixated on the magic that occurs between different people, ideas and forms of expression. Presented digitally throughout the year, Golden Hour weaves dance, history, music, and stories, for both our local audience and an expanding one across the globe.
The first four episodes of the series are parts of a fuller program, which will become an essay on the Mythology of Canadian culture, as presented through the lens of artist-curators.
Golden Hour engages local Toronto artists, including members of Luminato’s Artists In Residence program, and offers them space to curate and promote the work of fellow artists.
The series introduces new artists to the broader community, offers them opportunities to hone their curatorial skills, and provides an international platform for their work.
Each episode will be an unexpected experience impossible to stop thinking about, simultaneously contributing to larger creative dialogues in the region and adding to the creative consciousness of the city.
