Led by critically acclaimed Black authors Lawrence Hill, Canisia Lubrin, and Djanet Sears, each masterclass explores a different genre: children’s novels, poetry, and playwriting. Designed as an intimate and supportive experience, the masterclass series connects local writers who are currently working on a piece with leading Black authors.

Join award-winning author Lawrence Hill in a Masterclass in which he will share his approaches to incorporating research naturally into his narrative, to world-building and to making use of point of view in his novel for young readers, Beatrice and Croc Harry. There will be plenty of time for questions and for conversation.
