Nova Bhattacharya is an award-winning, barrier-breaking, artist and cultural leader. Her creations are filled with lush, vivid images that invite the viewer on a journey of heart and mind; and Nova Dance is a vibrant cultural hub where multi-disciplinary artists converge and create. She holds experiences of Bharatnatyam, Butoh, modern & “contemporary” dance techniques, and folk dances of many cultures. The Company’s critically acclaimed works have been presented in Canada, Germany, India, Japan, the United Kingdom and Uganda.
Nova’s choreography has been commissioned by dance and theatre companies and she is the recipient of multiple honours for her body of work, including the Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement.
