Mouaiad Roumieh graduated from the Higher Institut of Dramatic Arts Damascus in 2009 with a BA in Dramatic Art, and immediately began building a highly successful international career as a performer and theatre academic, with skills in dramaturgy, acting and acrobatics.
In Syria, he performed with independent directors in several theatre plays and movies as well participated in several workshops on acting, theatrical text analysis and dramaturgy.
He left Syria in 2016. After touring Europe Playing ‘Omar’ in the play While I Was Waiting by Omar Abu Saada. He later settled down in Paris, France since the beginning of 2017 as a refugee, and his professional career continued to flourish in Europe.
This led to invitations to perform at some of Europe’s premier theatres and festivals including the Festival d’Avignon (France), Basel Theater Festival, Vidy Theater Lausanne, Spektakel Theater Zurich and Arts Centre Vooruit (Switzerland), Braunshweig Theater Formen (Germany), Noorderzon Festival (The Netherlands) and Napoli Teatro Festival (Italy).
In Europe, He has been working with Theatre an der Ruhr on several play as a part of Collective Malouba such as your love is fire and Just a Formality.
