Bear Witness is from the Cayuga First Nation. He is one half of The Halluci Nation (F.K.A. A Tribe Called Red), a JUNO award winning Canadian electronic music group, who blend instrumental hip hop, reggae, moombahton, and dubstep-influenced dance music with elements of First Nations music, particularly drumming and vocal chanting. Bear Witness doubles as the crew’s visual artist and creates stunning, political and sometimes humorous videos that incorporate film and pop culture references to native people and reclaim the image of indigenous peoples.
