Position Summary
Luminato is seeking to hire two Producers to join our in-house team in the lead-up to our June 2022 Festival. Reporting to the Festival Producer, the Producers will play an integral role within our team, managing a portfolio of projects ranging from in-house productions to local and national co-presentations.
Our ideal Producer is someone with these qualities:
• A minimum of 5 years experience in producing performing arts and/or large-scale events;
specialized background in festivals, music, theatre, fashion, dance, visual arts or special events
welcome;
• Effective and complex planning, budgeting, scheduling and organizational skills. Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high tolerance for pressure; successfully manages multiple projects;
• Creatively driven and enjoys working directly with artists and creators;
• Knowledge of the Canadian arts landscape;
• Understanding and proven possession of strong leadership and mentorship skills;
• Understanding of large-scale event operations and requirements in creating safe, accessible and appealing environments for audiences;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
The Producer will be responsible for the following:
• Working closely with external and internal teams to support the creative development of
productions and co-productions within your portfolio.
• Team-building and leading production teams for projects within your portfolio.
• Managing project budgets and expenditures.
• Leading contract negotiations for projects within your portfolio and ensure contract terms are
upheld by all parties.
• Working closely with the access, ticketing, marketing, communications, volunteers, sponsorship
and fundraising teams to ensure all aspects of producing your projects are supported.
• Working closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure projects adhere to the overall
operations strategy and vision of the festival.
Luminato functions under a hybrid model of working remotely and in our flex-space office at 180 Shaw Street, Toronto. The office is currently under renovation but will be available for use in the Fall of 2021.
