I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings to everyone attending the 10th anniversary Luminato Festival.
Luminato keeps getting bigger and better every year. The 2016 edition will offer visitors a feast of activities that celebrate the performing and visual arts, film, literature and more. A special highlight of this year’s event is sure to be a new venue that is unique, in all senses of the word. The iconic decommissioned Hearn Generating Station will serve as the creative hub for the entire festival, bringing all programming under a single roof.
In the space of ten short years, Luminato has become one of the premier arts festivals of the world. This is in no small measure due to the creative talent and energy of the festival staff and, of course, the featured artists and performers. As you bid farewell to outgoing Artistic Director Jorn Weisbrodt and welcome his replacement, Josephine Ridge, you will have a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon all that you have achieved in the past ten years while looking ahead to an evolving and exciting future for this cultural landmark.
Please accept my best wishes for a memorable experience.
