DCSIMG

Chief Executive Officer

Job Description

Luminato Festival celebrates performance, visual arts, and media on the streets and stages of Toronto. Approaching its 15th anniversary in 2021, Luminato is an international arts festival with a distinctly Toronto personality. It has thrilled over 10,000,000 people, bringing to Toronto over 16,000 artists from 40 countries, while investing over 60% of its budget in supporting and presenting Canadian culture, and contributing $1.1 billion to the Canadian economy. Luminato showcases unique commissioned works and magical collaborations between Canadian and international artists, presenting art and ideas in unexpected public spaces, and attracting locals and tourists to the fourth-largest city in North America and one of the most culturally diverse places on the planet.

Becoming one of the most admired international arts festivals takes vision, leadership, focus, creativity, and drive. The next CEO will expand Luminato’s reach, scale, and profile with a clear vision, enthusiasm for all forms of art, and dedication to civic leadership. Together with a committed Artistic Director, high-performing team and passionate Board, Luminato’s CEO has an opportunity to inspire and excite – while galvanizing Toronto’s transition to a post-pandemic future. The CEO will engage with government funders, nurture productive relationships with corporate and individual donors, and build creative and collaborative partnerships with members of Toronto’s cultural community.

Over the course of your arts leadership career, you have developed a global perspective and an appreciation for quality, innovation, and impact. You have a track record of social convening and community development, and you value the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Diplomatic and engaging, you are also relentless in pursuing goals. Your teams are empowered and aligned behind clear, achievable plans built in a culture of transparency and trust. A transformational leader, you excel in planning, collaborative decision making, and execution. Under your leadership, Luminato will be a community builder, capturing hearts and minds, enriching and deepening audiences for arts in Toronto, and becoming a must-do event in the calendars of the nation and the world.

Luminato is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all qualified individuals to apply. Should you require accommodation during the assessment process, we will work with you to meet your needs.
Consideration of candidates will begin immediately.
