Montreal-based vocalist and bandleader Vox Sambou from Haiti channels the spirit of Fela Kuti and Bob Marley, making uplifting, joyful, charged music that combines Afrobeat, funk, reggae, hip-hop and rhythms from all across the African diaspora.
Vox Sambou is an MC, poet, and multilingual performer, fluent in Haitian, French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He co-founded the hip-hop collective Nomadic Massive. With a focus on social issues, Sambou's music spreads joy and optimism. He has performed worldwide and is renowned for his engaging live shows. His recently released fourth solo album, "We Must Unite" (2023) showcases his unique sound and is a tribute to the women and men of Haiti.
