Join us for an enchanting Indian Classical Performance by flutist Hasheel (student of legendary Hariprasad Chaurasia) and tabla maestro Kiran Morarji (student of Zakir Hussain). This powerhouse duo will be presenting a few evening raagas, short compositions, and will also blend their classical training with electronic beats that will be sure to put you in a trance. Whether you are coming by for the festival or need a moment to destress after work, the jugalbandi of Bansuri and Tabla will bring you a necessary reset.
Hasheel has been learning North Indian Classical music since the age of five under his father. He also started playing the bansuri under the guidance of his first teacher Shri Jeetu Sharma. Hasheel is currently a senior bansuri student of the legendary Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and vocal student of Pandit Ajay Pohankar. He is the only Canadian student of these two legendary maestros. Performances have included those with Kailash Kher, Hariharan, Karthik, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, Karsh Kale, and for academy award winner A. R. Rahman.
